Vietnam is currently our most affordable MBBS destination, starting from ₹31 lakhs for the complete 6-year program including tuition and hostel. It suits students prioritizing cost above all else, with a comparatively fast 3-4 month admission timeline and September/January intakes. Vietnamese universities generally require only your NEET score and 10+2 marks for eligibility, without an additional university entrance exam.
Georgia: The Established Alternative
Georgia typically runs $40,000-50,000 (roughly ₹33-42 lakhs) for the full program — a similar overall range to Vietnam, with a longer track record of Indian students studying there and a larger existing alumni and support network. Georgian medical universities are also NMC-recognized, with the same FMGE pathway to practice in India afterward.
How to Actually Decide Between Them
Cost is close enough between the two that it usually isn't the deciding factor once you look at the real numbers — the more useful questions are about intake timing (Vietnam's January intake can mean starting sooner if you've just missed a cycle), climate and lifestyle preference, and how established the current Indian student community is at your shortlisted university, which matters more for day-to-day comfort than most students expect going in.

Whichever you choose, the path to practicing in India afterward is identical: graduate from your NMC-recognized university, then clear the FMGE. Neither destination gives you a shortcut around this step, and neither makes it harder than the other — the degree recognition pathway itself is not a differentiator between Vietnam and Georgia.
